SpareParts365 – customized solutions for your industry
Release Notes: SpareParts365 25.1
Focus on the user: Direct improvements to the workflow
Various customisations make working with SpareParts365 on a daily basis even more convenient.
- Enhanced shop features: In the online shop, managing the shopping basket has been made easier with an ‘Remove all’ button. In addition, authorised users can now permanently delete orders and enquiries, thereby improving the clarity of their overview.
- Convenient data transfer: To speed up work with bills of materials, the contents of individual table fields, such as material numbers, can be copied directly to the clipboard via the context menu. This ensures consistent and rapid data transfer, regardless of the browser used.
- Optimised 3D navigation: Navigation within complex 3D models is now more responsive. You can now switch to other assemblies or dialogue boxes immediately, without having to wait for the model to finish loading. This saves valuable time, particularly when working with very large datasets.
- More intuitive login dialogue: The login area has been redesigned. The choice between logging in via Single Sign-On (SSO) or as a registered user is now clearer and more intuitive.
Greater flexibility in administration and configuration
Administrators and configurators are being given new tools to tailor SpareParts365 even more precisely to their needs.
- Simplified user creation: Usernames are now case-insensitive, which means there is no longer any need to distinguish between upper and lower case. This prevents duplicate usernames and simplifies the login process, particularly when email addresses are used as usernames.
- Modern integration with OpenID Connect: The modern OpenID Connect (OIDC) protocol is now supported as a single sign-on method. This enables seamless integration with a wide range of popular identity providers such as Okta, Auth0, Keycloak and Microsoft Entra.
- Custom mail server configuration: For on-premises installations, a separate mail server configuration can now be set up for each catalogue project if the default SpareParts365 mail server is not to be used.
- Simplified software updates: On-premise customers can now update the portal software to a new release version directly via a dedicated dialogue box within the system, eliminating the need for manual installation steps.
Optimisations for the offline catalogue viewer
The catalogue viewer for offline use has been further improved in terms of usability and performance.
- More flexible catalogue selection: When creating catalogue packages, you can now select not only individual catalogues but also entire product groups, which makes it easier to compile thematically focused catalogues.
- More efficient downloads: Catalogue packages are now generated directly during the download. There is no need to cache them on the server, which speeds up the process and reduces the load on the server.
- Advanced configuration options: Administrators can now control in greater detail how many catalogues a user is permitted to download at the same time, whether the ordering function is enabled in the viewer, and via which channel (email client or SMTP server) requests are sent. Furthermore, compatibility is ensured by displaying the minimum required viewer version. Compatibility certification for Windows 10 IoT has been successfully completed.
Technological advances and stability
Behind the scenes, significant progress has also been made. The plug-in engine has been expanded to include additional hooks, making integration with third-party systems and process communication even more flexible. As usual, performance optimisations have been implemented in various areas, reported bugs have been fixed, and the user interface has been further refined.
