Smart parts management
A new parts substitution function has been introduced to optimise stock management and ordering processes.
- Part replacement: It is now possible to mark parts as no longer available and to define one or more suitable replacements directly. The suggested replacement or alternative parts are displayed to users directly in the bill of materials and when adding items to the basket. This feature is included in the “Prime” licence tier of SpareParts365.
Improved user experience and catalogue usage
The focus was also on making the catalogue more intuitive and faster for end users to use.
- Weighted search in documents: When multiple search terms are entered, search results are now displayed in order of relevance. Documents containing all terms are listed first, followed by those with only partial matches. An exact search for phrases such as “Sensor Pressure” can be performed by using quotation marks.
- Table of contents for PDF catalogues: The creation of PDF catalogues has been enhanced to include an automatically linked table of contents. In addition, the chapter headings are available as handy bookmarks within the PDF document.
- Optimised offline catalogue: The interface for generating packages for the offline catalogue has been made clearer and now uses the portal’s current language setting. In addition, a new display component enables full-text searches within PDF documents in offline mode.
More efficient ordering processes
In the area of order management, features have been added to increase flexibility and simplify processes.
- Price variants: When importing price lists, different variants can now be stored. This allows, for example, the implementation of tiered pricing or customer-specific prices, the assignment of which is controlled via flexible plug-ins.
- Flexible quantity specifications: Decimal values can now also be used to specify quantities when adding items to the basket, which is useful, for example, when ordering items by length, such as “0.2 m”.
Advanced configuration options for administrators
To simplify the management of the platform, new options for configurators and administrators have been added.
- Multilingualism: All text used in the portal can now be exported, customised and expanded to include new languages via a centralised process. A new attribute identifies the source of the text (system, configuration, plug-in).
- Targeted deletion of records: By importing an ‘actions’ file, individual records such as drawings, documents or catalogue selections can be deleted in a targeted and convenient manner.
- Interactive role management: Role permissions can now be edited interactively directly within the portal configuration, rather than solely via import.
- Export user list: Under ‘Data → Users’, the full user list can now be exported as an Excel or PDF file for a clearer overview.
Improving the ability to integrate
The integration of SpareParts365 with existing system environments will be further improved.
- Enhanced plug-in engine: The list of available entry points (hooks) for plug-ins has been significantly expanded. This enables deeper and more flexible integration with other enterprise solutions. Furthermore, for each plug-in, you can specify whether it should be active in the online, offline or both environments.
Continuous improvement
Based on user feedback and internal testing, performance optimisations have been made in various areas. In addition, bugs reported since the last release have been fixed and the overall user interface has been further improved.
